This video was the central projection of an installation about childhood, memory, and the tragic death of my younger sister from a surgical error. I had a vivid dream of swimming through the house we grew up in and wanted to shoot a video which captured those sensations. I had also been experimenting with sound recording, combining standard microphones and contact mics I made from Radio Shack components. An RN friend got me permission to record in the equipment storage room of a local hospital, and I mixed those tracks with sounds from another friend’s dive footage to create the soundtrack.
